I have 12v halogen lights under my kitchen units and the last one has now packed in. I want to replace with a led strip. The leds are 60pc /m 12v, 4.8w/m, 270/300 lumens/m and came with a miniature type jack plug but I didn’t buy the phone charger type plug to power them as there’s a transformer on top of my cabinets. A 8.2v charger I have lights up the leds but they are very dim, I assume because of the lower voltage
the transformer is 53-105va 0.46 amps11.6 volts ac is this transformer capable of running the led strip ?

I suspect your LED strips will need 12VDC, rather than the AC from your transformer. What do the instructions say? Better to use the correct power supply to avoid risking damage.
