Wall chaser and hoover recomendations

Looking at purchasing a wall chaser and hoover set and wondered what brands were being used with members and if you were happy with the kit.

• happy to buy good quality
• would prefer a bagless hoover if this is an option
• would like blades that last and dont cost the earth to replace

110% the Metabo wall chaser with the triple disc blade cutter, removes the whole width of the chase in one go.

Coupled with the Metabo dust extractor, which comes on automatically when you operate the wall chaser. It also has a self cleaning device built in, for when the filters get clogged with dust.

I second the above. I have same as @LukeD. Good price and good on the dust collection. Got through many a chase no problem. Usually most victorian and 30s houses have really soft plaster so no problems with blade longevity.

I use 2 "hoovers" . A nilfisk as a site hoover etc and a festool for dust extraction when using wood tools etc . If I had to keep one it would always be the Nilfisk .

Plenty of places to buy it.
Just type metabo mfe40 into Google. The triple disc cutter is fantastic. You may well have to buy this separately. It takes out the chase as well which is automatically sucked up by the vacuum machine. I use the nilfisk vacuum which seems fine to me, much cheaper than the metabo vacuum. However, I have never used the metabo vacuum so perhaps it may be even better.

As these days most of My wiring ends-up owerboarded I find Arebos chaser more then sufficient (even on a yourkshire brick), as they are not officialy sold for UK market you will have to change the plug from European. But you cant beat Henry on hovering. While there might be a fancier mashines henry will take whatever you throw at it (including being hit by hammers, lebourers) and can be sit on when eating lunch. The only negative is that I have not seen it in 110V (still looking). You can pick them up in charity shops for a tenner.

Far superior to any Henry ! And can hold a lot more.

Chaser & vac bought separately should be a few hundred pounds less than that.

I have the Parkside chaser from Lidl. Not something that's seen a huge amount of use, but seems perfectly capable other than having a maximum cutting depth of 30mm. I doubt it could be compared to Metabo's MFE40 with triple blade.
