Just wondered if anybody had problems with the above with the plastic turnscrews jamming when you try to reopen the box.Also last week,had one full of water because of a tiny split in the top 20mm membrane

Turn screws sometimes a bit fiddly if not lined up. Would never rely on the membrane to provide water ingress protection would always use correct gland. Hope that's what you're getting at?:)
 
And avoid bringing cables in from the top...
No,the membrane had split,cables into to stuffers in the bottom of box for outside flood light.
 
The screws have to be aligned just right for the lid to open easily. If not, and the lid is forced off, it is easy to damage the lid/box, seen plenty examples of that.
 
Yes the quarter turn screws can be a bit of a pain to get lined up just right,they take a little patience and careful fettling.
