Installing 2 swa’s

Simple question,how would you install 2 Swa’s,they are to be clipped surface on brickwork,which will been seen,so looking for a nice finish.
Client does not want cable tray,Swa’s are 3c 6.00mm

Yea they look ok,using normal cleats,never looks right ,when clipping 2 adjacent to each other,the other way I was thinking maybe allband

Why do you need 2 supplies for an A/C unit? As the supply to the ccondenser (outside unit) usually is all you need as the supply to the Evaporating (inside unit) is, in most cases fed from the condenser unit, as the inside unit, is after all only a small fan.

Ac units are external the inside units are powered from this unit,like you say control & power.

As I have been out of the game for a while can you run a single multi core SWA feeding two units from two breakers correctly labelled and then split at a box? Or is this not possible?

interesting... you could say that 4cores of SWA, 2 for each circuit, is similar to running 4 singles in conduit.

you could make your own little brackets from the solid all round band type stuff, not the hole type but the black solid type, it would look nice, just drilling the 2 holes in each one would be a pain lol, still give you something to do Tel

Is it possible for you to run 1 x steel conduit or PVC if the enviroment suits, then wire both circuits in singles. Just a thought

Don't know about that supplier. We use a lot on mobile phone sites so our suppliers are normally Graham Smiths for that kind of stuff.

It’s possible to do it, but I would question whether it is the most sensible way to do it. We quite often do it in stage lighting installs with 12 or 19 core SWA for groups of dimmer circuits going to the same location.

However for general power installation like this keeping everything separate gives complete separation should a fault occur, and makes it simpler to move one supply in the future if necessary.

If you have to produce a perfect looking run then I’d be looking at doing it in steel conduit, getting SWA to sit perfectly straight on external walls which are never perfectly straight or smooth themselves is not possible.

How long is the run.

50 metres,I’ve decided yesterday,the final 20 metres externally will be on cable tray.
Using all band,was hard work,it’s all clipped at height inside the building,it’s looks ok,but not perfect.
