if you are going to be employed by an employer, it's your employer's responsibility to provide all PPE ( safety equipment ) for you.

as for lasting, depends on work you will be doing, nice light pair with steel toes and midsole, try them on

a lot of the bigger electrical wholesalers do them.

dont use the cheapest boots you can find as you will be buying new ones after 3 months. dewalt make good boots. only tried 2 different types of dewalt boot but they have both lasted over 2 years

look at the new dickies boots that have just come out, mosel safey boot and elbe safety trainer . they are safety boots, but with no metal instead they have some sort of composite stuff so they are lighter and more flexible (aka comfy) and are as tough as steel toes and conform to all the right BS EN stuff and look like they are built to last.

Mosel Safety Boot, FC23710, Safety Boots, Dickies, Overalls, Hi-Vis Jackets, Waterproofs and Safety Boots

quite frankly i can't wear 90% of safety boots, they are all far too rigid, clumpy and heavy and i end up going home from work with sore feet. i've bought 2 different pairs in the last year and they have both only lasted a fortnight, i keep weaing my old army boots instead they are as comfy as you can get!

Screweys are always doing offers on Dickies/DeWalt boots, both are good boots.

I only really rate trainer-style steelies on domestic work, if you are working on-site you should go for a lace-up boot with some ankle support (in fact most sites demand that you wear such a boot)

I have used the Element 2 hiker from ARCO (work wear suppliers) for years, and swear by them. No wearing in phase, waterproof, light and comfortable. And ARCO NEVER charge the full list price. Highly recommended.

Look mate, why would you wanna scrimp on your daisies? You're be in them for up to 15 hours a day. Theres an old saying that is as true as any anything; don't scrimp on your mattress or boots because if you're not in one you'll be in the other. Try DeWalt Apprentice boots. Pricey, but worth every penny. No one ever said that comfort was cheap lad.

Dewalt boots from Costco 35 quid no VAT. Although the toe does go on them!

I wouldn't recommend getting rigger boots come some sites will not let you wear them because there is no ankle protection.
