I want to enrol on a 2391 evening course and they require every candidate to sit and pass a 1 hr aptitude test before you can begin the course. Anyone done this and can they tell me what sort of questions I may be asked so I can brush up. I have been told to bring pen, pencil, rubber and calculator

it's basically a test to see if you are bright enough to have a good chance with the 2391. should be nothing to worry about

i think that's about it, spin, maybe with a few questions on basic electrics

IF you don't pass and live anywhere neer birmingham i recomend talking to B6 7BU as they know their stuff and run a very good training centre (with free tea!! and taxi service from one of the guys taking his 17th edition).

There was a bit about it in a chief examiners report critisizing test centres (I think) ..... could be as a result of this. Critisism (can't spell it sorry) being they let anyone in and loads failed.

I have heard of some courses running (London way) where everyone failed. zero passed! Not good. But on the other hand it is, because I think it still counts for something because it's quite hard to pass.

Well, I sat it last night, 100 questions in 1 hour with 70 percent required but, as the guy presented it quite fairly said, it is aimed at "sparky's" and if you are current it shouldnt present a problem...... I only hope I pass !
