Anyone come across this before....?

Been working on a 1970's flat this week and it's wired in this stuff : Singles and 'sort of' old style plastic semi flexible conduit. The thing is the ring looks like they've only wired the cpc in 1mm !!

Quite possibly only 1mm, you'll just have to take it into account for expected results when testing the circuit. It looks like solid core singles as well.

Yes it is 1mm earth, recently rewired a number of these properties, speaking to one of the older blokes at work these were wired mid 70s. The outer sheathing was alledgedly used to enable the property to be rewired without causing any damage - not that i would like to try

Know what you mean - reckon that would be pretty much impossible in this case
