Remember parking my 1300 MK4 Cortina two wheels up on the kerb round the corner from Halfords in Twickenham and changing the starter motor. Other than that the only other fun I had was re setting the points with a set of feeler guages. Crude motoringAhhhh reminds me of the day from my MK1 Escort ownership days.
Replacing a piston in the engine was un but a lot easier then in modern cars, also finding the rubber ball that you pressed with your foot to work the washer jets was under the "bits" of old Axminster carpet the previous owner had cut up and used for floor mats.Remember parking my 1300 MK4 Cortina two wheels up on the kerb round the corner from Halfords in Twickenham and changing the starter motor.
