Hi I replaced a Flash immersion timer with an apt one today and it seemed straightforward but just wondering should the light on isolation switch not always stay on even when the immersion switch is set to off. Also when I flick the switch on the isolation to off and leave the immersion at on the light on the immersion stays on!Is this normal as I thought when I turned off tge isolation switch it wouldn't allow the immersion light to come on?Is it wired correctly?

Indicator on isolator should only be illuminated when isolator is switched on. Anything downstream of this will have no impact on the indicator. I'd misread your post and thought indicator was illuminated and timer powered when isolator off.

When isolator is off immersion should have no power, although an LCD display would have battery back up. If immersion continues to heat when isolated, something is definitely wrong.

Can you post images of the wiring at back of isolator and timer? Something seems to be amiss.

Thanks,I will check tomorrow to see if the immersion heats up even when the isolation switch is off and if it does I will get it looked at by a professional.Cheers for the advice.

Thanks,I will get it looked at by a professional,is it dangerous at the moment in your opinion or would it trip the switch?

Definitely get someone in - it should be a very quick fix. I was also worried that this may have been a boiler timer and not capable of handling the load current from an immersion, but it does appear to be rated to 16A and therefore suitable for the application.
