hello, seen a few jobs recently come up fixing electrics of vehicles, is there much to this? , or is there a certain course you have to do?, its says must be qualified electrician. im just nosey and thanks if you let me in on how much knowledge is needed for job like this,

i guess its battery to fuses then off on individual circuits, would you just use low range ohmeter/buzzer/200mA to test these cables???

thanks

im waiting on you to get your head out of your --- and awnser my question. not 1 way its 2 way your involved and i know you know the awnsers

I'm qualified for both auto, and domestic electrics and would be really interested to see how you get on with vehicle electrics. I know I will come under fire for this but in my opinion modern vehicle electrics is a hundred times more complicated than domestic. A car is now a computer on wheels, packed full of ECU's and communication buses, optic fibre networks, etc. You don't need an ohmmeter you need a very expensive laptop with an oscilloscope built in. There are no regulations for vehicle electrics, every manufacturer does there own thing with hundreds of coloured cables to choose from. The voltages range from point nothing up to several hundred thousand. Oh and I returned to domestic electrics because I'd had it with vehicle electrics, and the pays worse for working on cars! Go for it!
