So at last I have decided to buy a megger. Therefore I will sell my Kewtech 65dl. It is calibrated recently (first calibration). It has been very well looked after. I am very careful with all my equipment. It comes with the PAT tester attachment. R2 socket tester small crocs for shorting at CU. Offering here before it goes on the old ebay. PM if interested. Photos can be supplied. Looking for circa £500 ono post free.

Just out of interest, which Megger did you opt for?

this one probably !

i might well be buying a megger myself and getting rid of my kt64dl. think we have both had issues with odd readings and accuracy...

In all seriousness the fact that at low res ohms there is the possibility of 6 figure difference, I checked the megger and it is 5 figure difference so not a lot of difference between them. I did very carefully think about this and look up the specs. I did not really pick that up about the Kewtech and indeed megger. But experience is a good teacher now we know.

Could you expand on that a bit, please (5 or 6 figure difference)? Are you talking accuracy or uncertainty? What do you mean? Sorry if I'm being a bit dim. :)

basically its accuracy, when measuring low ohms, say you have a Ze of 0.1 the machine could show 0.06 or 0.15 as it has a margin of error of 5 or 6 digits. but given the margin of error either of the values would be considered okay by kewtech... Recently i was getting a Ze of 0.03 when i knew it to be 0.1 or 0.11 as its been tested on 3 separate occasions. you have to keep an eye on it as it could cause your pfc etc to be incorrectly high. quite often the pfc and pscc will still be okay but the ohm readings at the low end will be a bit out.. took me a day to sort out this issue with kewtech support.

I must say that was not the best pre-sales pitch for your 64dl I have heard this year@Gavin John Hyde and it may not enhance my sales pitch. Nvm though;)
Well it can go on the ebay with a well written piece by the girlfriend to go with a pretty picture as she does advertorial pieces for magazines and can make a pile of s**t sound amazing and like you want to buy a pile after reading about it.... its because of people like her i fell for the kewtech sales pitch.... i should have known better...

Thanks. So +/- 0.05Ω (or +/- 0.06Ω), then. Cheers :)

For balance, my kt65 has been perfect.
I rarely see anything under 0.1 Ze but if I did and I had a worry I'd add the ever present wonderful wander lead in series.
