Bunker electrics!

Few photos from the weekend's visit, thought they might be of interest to some on here. Apologies for the quality, I should have forced flash on. Light was 'murky'.

Those pyro's could have been straightened a bit better just looks a bit rough

Saw stuff like that in the communications bunker at leuchars raf base. But I think if I whipped out a camera would likely get shot.

I have worked or raf base before, the man on the gate with the gun suggested in strong terms that photography was a BAD IDEA!

if this is anything other than a disused bunker or a museum, I think taking the post backdown would be in your best interests.

I actually own an ex military underground bunker, but the only electrics in mine is a couple of 12 volt lamps, a switch, and a couple of croc. clips to attach to a battery.

Fantastic! Original hatch and key as well - that must be rare these days. Bargain price as well, they normally go for around £20k and above these days!

I spent a lot of time in one of those in the sixties.
I remember the stirrup pump well for raising the radio mast, and the individual Dosimeter to tell us if we were goosed or not in the event of surviving a blast.
