Discuss Can I add a motion sensor in the Lighting Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net
Hi
In my hallway I have several led floor lights that are plugged into a wall socket
Can I add a motion sensor so that they switch on when I walk into the hallway
Thanks for any help
Thanks for the reply Can you recommend a sensor Doesn't really matter about dusk, as it's quite a dark hallwayWelcome to the forum mate.
So currently you switch the floor lights on by switching on the socket?
You could add a motion sensor to switch these light on but you would have to put it between the socket and the lights.
I'd also get a sensor that has a Dusk function, so that the lights don't come on during the day, when it's light.
Yes that's right. Switch on at plugHows your current lights installed and operated?
Is it as I have mentioned above?
Yes skirting board height. Can't really upload pics as at my sons house. Was just trying to help him outI'm presuming that the cable from the socket to the floor lights will most probably stay at skirting board height.
It would be better to know the layout of the lights and where the sensor is going to pick a sensor.
Any chance of uploading some pics.
