well today i got a phone call off local gp wanting me to look at a problem they have with some lights, this was suprising as i didn't think my advert in yello pages was going to be published for 17 days.have elecsa first assesment on thursday and wanted to concentrate on that.
anyways said i would have a look at it tommorow i think during there lunch time, problems i have is i haven't set up buissenes bank account yet so any check will have to be paid in my name!
i haven't a van yet so turning up in alfa romeo,no buissenes cards printed yet.
jumped the gun a bit and said elecsa registered.
didn't state that there is a call out charge.
not sure about what insurance needed for a gp,my public liability 2 million cover everything or do i need other?

Your insured, your competent, it's commercial so you don't need to worry about part piddle, so big smile on, crack on with it, and impress them, GP surgerys are a key post of the community so could lead to more work. When your done, and your speaking to the surgery manager ask if you can leave some cards in the waiting room and offer to go above and beyond for any frail, infirm and vulnerable patients they may have.

on Hightowers note of leaving your cards try this one;

ask the if they would like some free appointment cards printing, there appt goes on one side and your card goes on the other. most surgeries will be happy for you to do that

as i said i haven't got cards printed yet,so missed out big time on advertising.
maybe if i say i will pop in and drop afew off put on wall etc.
nice point about the frail and infirm, i wonder if they need some sockets lowered or light switches.

i like your thinking phil!!, could just pop in any surgery and try that,:D

and dentists etc. even the hair dressers and basicly anyone who gives out the cards. everyone is looking to downsize their costs so most would grab the chance. tell them you will have their number on the appt side of the card incase they think people won`t have it and then your on the back. got to be better than posting cards etc and with appt cards people are more likely to keep them for longer rather than a quick look and then the bin. also a littl 5% off on production of the card etc or a free gifr for recommendations will help your number spread.

Anyways said i would have a look at it tommorow i think during there lunch time, problems i have is i haven't set up buissenes bank account yet so any check will have to be paid in my name! No problem, your are a sole trader, not a LTD company and no VAT :)
i haven't a van yet so turning up in alfa romeo, Just starting out, less expence for the customer.

no buissenes cards printed yet. again, your just starting out.
jumped the gun a bit and said elecsa registered. No concern for this customer
didn't state that there is a call out charge. Play this one by ear when talking about money, dont be greedy and dont shoot yourself in the foot.
not sure about what insurance needed for a gp,my public liability 2 million cover everything or do i need other? £2M should be fine for a GP but you could ask them?

ps good luck on Thursday, you will P it.

Just a future thought for you, id be recommending a PL insurance of 5million minimum and if your budget stretches far enough then 10million as some companies and councils require 5 or 10 cover if you work for them, its nothing you need to address straight away as most insurers will let you upgrade if need be if a job with requested PL cover did come your way but its nice to have it all in place and be able to say confidently you are fully covered which comes aross more proffesional than 'ill have to sort it out'.

the cheaper insurance has lots of exclusions mine didn,t cover me for lift shafts/any building over 4 storys/hospitals/ect ect

well as a follow up that most people don't do? i turned up nice lady showed me a light fitting one side worked other didn't imean double flourescent fitting. ok get ladders out tools out of car ,first thing swap starter from side that works still nothing ,second swap tubes from working side to non working side....................i have to state here that there was a computer desk in the way and i may of stepped on it occasionaly but i am only 10 stone what happened next?

you didn,t fix the fluo?, or she says "you broke my computer desk i,m not paying you"
its VERY unprofessional to use someones furnature as a step btw
suck it up
btw, why would you need a "ladders"?

... the desk held firm. swapping the tubes worked a treat. so you put some new lamps in, the office was now well lit and the world was a wonderful place again!

nope tried inserting tube and got stuck one side, tried twisting and snap! be connector on one side gone'not tube conector! didn'tt want to put too much weight on desk
