Hi all, I have a CompEx 01 re-sit this week. I have passed the full course once before and I have received no feedback as to why I have failed the unit this time around, which is very frustrating. I have been through the installation repeatedly and I have a couple of questions:

1. Is a manufacturer IP seal required when blanking an entry on Ex’nR’ restricted breathing equipment? (I used one on both the cable gland and the blank on the bulkhead light fitting in my original attempt).

2. Am I right in thinking there is a short inspection of the already installed equipment before proceeding with the rest of the installation? If so, is there anything typically to look out for? (I may have performed poorly on this).

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Hi, you are correct reference the IP washers , they should be used on all cable entries to a restricted breathing piece of apparatus. I have been retired for some time now and not familiar with the latest Compex courses, but I would presume you would check the existing installation prior to any works as you would with any installation you are adding to.
