Hello,

I am an industrial designer and at the moment I am working on designing a collection of lamps. Some are pendant, some floor lamps, etc. Although I do not have an electrician qualification, I understand how to make all the connections (or most of them). However, my idea is to sell these lamps and I assume I need to have some sort of legal qualification to be making them to sell? If not that, I assume I need to have them either put together or checked by a qualified electrician.

Does anyone know about the logistics in this? Which steps do I need to follow to be able to sell "legal" lamps?

Thanks!

You would need an electrical licence,
And insurance for public liability,
it may be easier to pay someone else with a licence,

I'm sure that nearly 8 years later the OP has either solved this problem or moved on :tearsofjoy:
