Hi everyone
I've got a job to change a consumer unit in a domestic property. The property has a security alarm. Can anyone tell me the correct procedure for shutting it down and effectively not allowing it to go off when I shut the power off. As I know some alarms just go off soon as the main power supply fails. Any help would be appriciated thanks guys.

You will need to "warn" your customer and make sure they have the codes available to shut the dam thing up... many bleep to warn the owner of a power outage.

Thanks guys. I guess I had better source some codes or ask the client to do so just I case it does go off uncontrollably. Any advice if it does go off? I have taken both supplies off a system before and the alarm kept going off!

And if the alarm is monitered at a remote location or a relatives house, they may need telling
