Hi Guys

Need to cut down to size a cover for a Cooker Extractor, the cover is aluminium what would you recommend to get a nice clean cut

Thanks

call into a metal works factory type place, ask one of the lads to do it on their machines and slip him £20,other wise its a night off the drink a jigsaw and a steady hand..

I use my 4'' grinder with one of those very thin metal cutting discs. You need to take your time to avoid over heating it as it might discolour if it gets too hot. (Stainless steel is especially bad for going blue) Also, you will need a good pair of goggles as although it doesn't show sparks it does throw debris in all directions. (Worse than most metals) You will probably then need to finish the edge by draw filing along it with a fairly smooth file.

ill second the grinder option. you can buy either 0.8mm or 1mm discs for them. These are brilliant for accurate quick cutting, but you need a steady hand. Brill for tray, trunking and ladder also!
