I suppose yes,
that's at least what I've done in a roundabout way with the feed in restriction I had.
It's only the question whether you can add extra panels afterwards.
I personally would stick some more on the roof when a good deal comes along, but the opinions do seem to differ!

East/West is a particular case where you can have a lot of panels on a twin mppt inverter. From memory on a PVI-3.6-OUTD each mppt can handle 3kWp of panels. I did an installation earlier in the year where with over 5kWp of panels on an east/west/south roof, with a bit of 3d trigonometry I was able to prove to the DNO it was less than 16A on single phase.

Could someone confirm on what paperwork is the key figure of what you have installed and is used for FITs. My MCS Certificate has a DNC of exactly my panel capacity, but the estimated annual generation on the same certificate is not in line with SAP calculation (I have some shading) it is hight. Also for some reason my e-on letter has another figure that is a higher capacity.

Suppose what I am asking is that I would like to add some more panels but as I have some shading so adding 10% more capacity will not exceed the perfect installation, can I do that.

Gary

I know what your getting but the fact is the MCS certificate and corresponding paperwork of the installer (inc in your handover pack) has the panel information including kwp and number with serial numbers plus the inverter with serial numbers. If you add to this it's classed as a new/ additional instalation. You might not be meeting your DNC but that's bad luck!

The fact is their is noting stopping you doing this and I guess the big six will start inspecting installations to ensure this doesn't happen ! It's a grey area but morally you know it's fraud !
