I've installed a number of dimmable LED downlights switched two ways. They're switched by one dimmer and a standard rocker.
When they are switched on with the dimmer the lights operate normally and can be dimmed however they seem to override the other switch which will not switch the lights off. If the dimmer is switched off the other switch operates normally however when closed appears to prevent the dimmer switch operating. Is this a quirk of dimmers? The switches are BG Nexus.

Assuming you've verified your connections are correct, and followed the manufactures instructions on how to connect the load to the dimmer. Would of said that to a diy'er, but note you are a trainee, so everything should be cushty.
