Hi all,

Is it necessary to fit fire rated spot lights in a bedroom when the space above is a loft??
 
No....... just make sure there's no insulation close to the lights.

Fitted some about 6 months ago for a mate whos a joiner. Told me the other day he's made some foot square boxes without lids out of fire resistant plaster board to put round them.

Sounded like a good idea
 
i think its only if there is a habitable room above otherwise as tel says lol as usual, mate your everywhere is there more than one of you
