Is this just a question your asking, or do you have a problem with a tripping RCD device??

If just a question, you can perform a ramp test to get a ''rough idea'' of the leakage current the device is tripping at. But these day's where RCDs are in such common use as a cure all additional protection device. Then every electrician should really have the means to test for circuit/component leakage currents, to enable them to fault locate effectively.

Depending on what you find from your testing sequences, you can then determine as to what effective cure is required...
