Thanks Andy.No.
GN3 lists what is expected of an inspector including relevant training and experience, an in depth knowledge of regulations, and a good knowledge of installation practices past and present in order to identify defects or potential defects.
Thanks Murdoch, I don't have any insurance. (Am just making a report if the installation, why do I need an insurance and which sort of the insurance is required for this kind of procedure)What insurances do you have?
Are you SE or employed?
Thanks Dillb, I will look into that or ask my company if they can issue report on behalf. You need professional indemnity insurance, as your giving advice.

Then there is the small matters of telling HMRC and your vehicle insurance company .........
The test meter you are planning to use - is it yours?
Based on your reply. I therrfore need to be registered to a scheme. You may find on occasion that whoever the report is to be supplied to will require membership of a scheme.
Thanks for informative feedback.A few years back (just after EICRS started) I conducted an inspection on a property the Landlord intended renting to the Local Council.
The Council to accept the 9 page EICR as I was not registered with the NICEIC. They changed that to registered with a Part P scheme.
The Landlord then arranged for an NICEIC registered installer to conduct an inspection (turned out to be a 1 page visual) which the Local Council accepted.
On the other hand, I did some work in an industrial unit and the Tennants insurance required the EIC be issued by an NICEIC installer. After a little chat on the phone with the insurers they were willing to accept my EIC.
