Hello everyone, this is my first message..
I am from Greece and I have found a Fluke 1652 which I'm thinking of buying. But I see in its specs that it is for 16th edition of HD384 (UK BS7671 ) and not the 17th.
Are there any big differences between them? Is 1652 good for 17th edition testing?
Thank you.

Yes it is.

Calling these instruments 17th (or whatever number) edition testers is basically meaningless!

it's the same electricity now as it was in the 16th, 15th , 14th etc. it's just that testers have got more advanced in technology. soon we'll be offered testers that we plug into our pc's at home, dial in a customers reference number and all readings will be downloaded to pc.

Of course you are right..I was just wondering if 17th edition requiaries some testing to be made that a 16th edition meter can't comply, that's all

Welcome Joun,
No :) I still use a 1651 ! It's limited without rcd ramp, IR at 250v and no auto RCD but these are not needed for 17th.
Just be careful to add for new leads and calabration cert on to the price.
Regards,
David
