How many of you guys get the customers / builders to buy materials to keep turn over down ? can you still make any mark up doing it like this ? how about quoting and invoicing, do you need it in black and white that the customer paid for the gear to satisfy the tax man ? tia

How well do you get on with your wholesaler and builder? what you could do is ask the builder to pay for the materials, get your wholesaler to provide a quote with an agreed mark up for yourself, once the builder pays for them get the wholesaler to give you the kick back or deduct it from your monthly bill.

my invoicing is itemized, work and materials separate. when they want some funky expensive lights or gold plated sockets im happy when they going to buy it, just take it off the bill when job done.
