A customer has been told by British Gas that their boiler requires a type A RCD.

Below is a picture of the existing CU.

Does anyone know if these RCD's (CGD - control gear direct) have a marking somewhere, or, if they are just always Type A? Or perhaps always Type AC?

No markings assume it is AC this is suggested in GN3.

Sometimes the markings are on the side (which you cannot easily see) - one of my EICR peeves

You can always ask the manufacturer.
