I'm looking for work experience to complete my NVQ Level 3

Hi guys,
Is there anyone who's looking for an electrician's mate/improver in the North London area or surroundings?
I have passed my 17th Edition and Part P and all I need to become a fully qualified electrician is to complete my NVQ level 3.
I'm not expecting a wage. I have a car so I can travel within a reasonable distance, I have a CSCS card and a few other certificates to work on site and loads of experience working in construction.

unless ive got it wrong but to gain your NVQ3 you have to actually be in PAID employment so therefore you cant gain your NVQ3 from doing non-paid work.

Really ?? As i was told by 2 of my college tutors that it had to be Paid work . i forgot the reason why they said it had to be Paid. Il ask them again.

But if you can get it from un-paid work then that will be better for me when i finish my L3 next year (if the work doesnt pick up by then)

yes mate, as long as you can get an employer to say you are working with him, does not matter an inch if it`s paid or unpaid mate the evidence is still the same regardless of how your pocket is or isn`t lined at the end of the week. the assessor should be aware of this.

ah ok thanks for the info .It makes gaining the NVQ easier to Obtain if it doesnt have to be paid work.

they don`t need to know mate if it`s paid or unpaid all you would need is a signature from the firm or sole trader you would be working with or for. even if it is unpaid just cover yourself ie make sure you are insured when you are working and if you are having to sign on tell the dole office so you are not seen leaving for work as this leads to all sorts of hassle. they are fine with it as long as they are told
