Thankfully it was not a tragedy.

I am in favour of big fines as it will get publicity and hopefully change behaviours. I didn’t know about the incident before and I’m not far from the shop.

I will accept bets this circuit was not RCD protected. It never tripped so staff just let it be...
 
I always used to think electrocuted meant killed by electricity. And Collins and Cambridge dictionaries define it this way. Electrically executed.
Seems that Oxford have defined electrocuted as killed or seriously injured by electricity.
Thankfully the child is ok.
I agree.. it seems to be 'death or severe injury', these days.

An english language mixture of electric and executed. Blame the Yanks again, it seems.
