When performing a Zs test on:

Lighting - should all lamps on the circuit be removed, switches on, etc.?

Ring - should all equipment be unplugged from the ring?

Thanks

Rich

yes and yes

How many of you guys actually remove all lamps when carrying out a Zs?

I mean if you have a large retail outlet with 200 spots in it!!!!

yes and yes

Unless you have the adapter plug to test light points, you really shouldnt be doing a zs test at the lights!! Live working is only carried out if its an absolute must!!!! You are allowed to calculate your zs and note this on the test sheet!!The only zs you should do is sockets as you are not taken the cover off to test!! E.A.W.A Reg 14.

Bit of a grey area i feel tho as to test trip times of rcds you have to test live at the d/b!!

even using thee adaptor plug. you've still got to undo the rose to access the earth

Live testing at a lighting point, if you can't do it safely, then theres something wrong!

How was Zs done at sockets before the introduction of adaptors? Isn't Ze a live test. Next Tony Cable will be telling everyone you can't do Ze live!?!?!

I have got a set. PRICELESS. great when you come across horrible awkward to take down metal fittings, in with the lightmate, and probe to the casing.......doddle.

I read somewhere on here that the site sponsor test-meter.co.uk were doing them, maybe get them from him. I got mine local cos i wanted them quick.

sorry, i was thinking more of the domestic side .

Had the light mates for about a year now but find the GU 10 adapter won't go into alot of fittings as the body of it is too wide, but generally very good as what sirKit Breaker has posted, . Also good for testing the line on the ES as its coulored a nice brown/red to make it easy.

£41 at least there coming down in price.

Testing live is not the same as working live c.boy, how on earth do you do your PFC test? Don't tell me you'll say by calculation or enquiry!!
