O

Octopus

God I hate these boards. Where is the best/cheapest place to buy RCBO's these days for these boards - its about 15 years old

Thanks

Last one I bought was from CEF was about £80 As comes as 2 parts that fit together the top / RCBO is about £55 and the RCD section about £30 now labelled as Eaton

A new CU would be a dam sight cheaper!! Where do these manufacturers get they're prices from??

I was looking at Schneider's (MG) RCBO UK prices the other day, your all being robbed silly at 96 quid a pop!! I don't doubt they can be had cheaper, than the web site i was looking at, but by how much, i haven't a clue!! lol!!

apologies for the hijack, but on a similar theme, anyone know where i can get a wylex NB40 or a NB50 MCB without shelling out £23?

ebay. there £30 ish. I was looking for one last night.

Jay

What size do you want LOL, and would this type fit?

Errr, ....40A or 50A maybe?? I read that as 40A preferably, 50A at a pinch!! lol!

customer has bought a new cooker. been told the exixting 6mm is no good and he needs 10mm. obviously, they've not heard of diversity. any way, customer has chased out the route, and says that now he's chased it, may aS well install 10mm. it's method C, so a 50A is correct for the 10mm, but the cooker will never pull 40A , so that's why i have a choice.

yes that would of been ok. I think with these men boards U have to be a little bit naughty and modify the buzbar to accept it.

thanks for the offer anyway, but im using an rcd fcu instead but I know who to call wen I need one next time.lol

45amp is the largest rcbo Schneider (merlin) produce off the shelf.

Our company pays £20ish sometimes less for rcbos from them, but we do have a good contract.

Edit: I must learn to read the whole thread!

I'll buy my merlin off you .
just got a quote returned with merlin rcbos at 58 &vat each!
a 12 way type a board c/w 9 rcbos kwh meter and surge protection...... Around 1100.00 notes.... Wtf .
mem3 is about 850.00 and hager around the 700.00 mark
i like merlin stuff but it's not 500 quid better than hager which I find top notch tbh
last mem alb rcbo I got was about 70 quid & vat.ouch. Least a hager board from 15 years ago will accept a new rcbo if required unlike mem and their policy of obsolescence.(
