Can you name 4 people that have been responsible for what you are today? not necessarily forum members

only person i can say has been responsible for me is me. never had a mentor , only back stabbers, except for 1 boss, who appreciated my work. mainly the reason i bin s/e most of my working life.

Pete Orange, Ted Flint, Jack Smith, Billy Powell All gone now

I was under the site electrical eng. when i was 19, he introduced me to 15th Edition (i think), and encouraged me to project manage MV switchgear moves and changes ( he also had me reading every KWh meter on the plant, there were many and it took me 3 hours to do it. We both worked together on Square D's recently launched PLCs and introduced them into the plant, i did have some fun in those days... Sadly he died at his desk one day, i had to meet his wife and daughter and explain what happened with the head of HR sat nervously at my shoulder.... never fully recovered from that experience and left the company shortly after. He was an outstanding mentor to a cocky, mischievous 19 year old "know it all"...:(

If Mentors had the time, a thread with projects/tasks akin to what on already being posted by, I want to Sparkiechick?, so it gives something to get to grips with.

I know like everyone Mentors have other things to do and may not want to do such work but it struck me as a way to get mentor/trainee interaction beyond "answer my homework questions" etc
