I currently have 2 ceiling lights in my living room that I wish to replace with 2 Phillips Hue lights. The current lights are turned on and off together via a 2 gang switch with the second switch operating the light in the conservatory (which has a Hue bulb)

I would like to remove the current switch (if possible) and cover the wiring with a blanking plate so I can use the Hue Dimmer accessory (via the Hue Bridge), and Siri to operate the lights in each room. In order to do this, I obviously need power to the lights to remain on constantly.

Is this possible? If so - how do I isolate the switch but maintain the circuit?

thanks in advance

Dave :)

There are various 'after market' switch adapter plates you can buy that fit over your light switch (leaving it on) so you can attach one or two hue dimmer modules over the front of the switch.
Just one example, you will find many others! :
But I just stick a Hue dimmer on the wall next to the light switch!

I would not advise permanently wiring a light switch 'on', as it's desirable to isolate the supply when changing a bulb.
