P

parm

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know if you needed to be part of a part P scheme or even get LABC approval prior to conducting a PIR?
I'm not part of a scheme but otherwise qualified, thanks in advance:confused:

all depends wot the report is for and who needs it ect.but i think prt p schemes are for self cert schemes and just another profit making org

You don't need to be part P for PIR, you only need to be cmpetent. Part P only applies for installation and certification in dwellings, PIR is not a certificate it is only a report.

for pir`s the requirement is 'competence' some landlords, insurance companies and local authorities may require you to be a member of a professional body ie niciec, elecsa, napit. altough most seem to as for nic as thats all they know of. can`t knock the nic for their marketing skills
