Hello,

When testing a lighting circuit wired in metal conduit and they are using the Conduit as an earth, is it acceptable too still link out live and earth at the mains board and test at light???
 
link at CU and test at all lights on the circuit, or use a wander lead and measure R2.
 
yes. the only difference is that the steel conduit is uses as cpc. be aware though that it may have been disconnected from an accessory by mr. DIY replacing any of the fittings.
