First visit here so hi everyone.

My problem is I have just gone to do add a few sockets for someone and upgrade the fuse board. Done some basic checks first and discovered an existing ring main had a very high zs (3.4). Checked the Ze and was fine (.2 for tns). Assumed there would be a dodgy earth at one of the sockets but all earths seemed fine. Decided to check the R1R2 and there is only one earth cable at the board.

This is an old bungalow and the ring circuit consists of stranded live and neutral but the earth is run as a radial circuit from the board. I can't connect the outgoing live to incoming earth and vice versa so what do you do in this case? Am i getting odd readings because the earth isn't a ring? I just thought i'd see if there was an obvious explanation before i crawled in the loft to follow the earth.

Thanks
