Is there no way of pulling a fuse? Really don't recommend working live with tails..... full PPE is going to be a must.

Not good enuff reason to work live IMO.. Only ever work live if lives depend on the supply.

Yea really man is there any way you can get in touch with police or whoever padlocked the room.... if the room that was locked is connected to other supplies and the isolation of those supples, then legally I'm not sure the coppers should have locked it.

I am confused here? Doesn't the ewr act state that you must never work live? but as someone already mentioned what if there are lives a risk i.e in a hospital?

Ha oh well that changes everything! I'd go full legnth 1000V gauntlets, apron and visor - the works. When disconnecting, unscrew terminations fully to ensure a quick and smooth disconnection. Hold cabling near to the termination to stop it flailing about everywhere when you pull it out. Once removed, get your tape and starting from the existing insulation, tape the bejeezuz out of it for while you're working - remember to leave a good end so the tape can be removed easily. DO NOT rely on the rubber gloves.

EDIT: just seen those ends P'Wise posted. Use them and forget about the tape.
