Hi everyone,
Just bought a house and have a small electrical project I'd like to try tackling myself (photos attached). One of the bathrooms has three overhead lights hardwired onto the same switch. Two of the lights are recessed cans, and the third light is a larger ceiling-mounted fixture. All three lights go on at the same time, and the mounted fixture is very bright. I would like to be able to operate the two can lights and the fixture separately by adding a new switch to the box and splitting them up.
The current light switch is on the left side, while the right side switch controls the bathroom fan.
Is this something that a reasonably competent DIY-er could do? If so, what materials would I need besides an additional switch and three-gang box?
Please let me know if more info is needed!
