HI All,

Im new to the site and the industry, I'm currently Studying a C&G Level3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Installation(Buildings Structures and the Environment)(2357-13.) I'm finding the course interesting and learning heaps (bit by bit.) What I'am looking for though is experience... as being able to recite a book from cover to cover is one thing, hands on experience itself is invaluable!!! Any tips, work :) would be greatly appreciated...

Look forward to getting to know you well,
Jase.

Welcome to the forum.

Finding experience is a hard task at the moment, you need to have a CV ready and be able to detal your current capabilities.

Then it is the sending out paperwork, letters, phone calls, to the widest variety of companies that my have a use for electricians.

Do not use negative terms always put a positive spin.

"I am a keen worker looking to be able to put my current training into practice for the benefit of your company, Having made good progress with the theoretical side of electrical installations I am very eager to be able to also demonstrate my prowess in the practical side of things. If there is any opportunity available in electrical installation or any related discipline where you feel I could be of use to you then please do contact me and I would be pleased to discuss this further."

Rather than:
"I have only got theoretical experience at the moment and I am still in training and have no practical experience, would you be able to help?"

Good luck

Thanks Richard... really appreciate the advise and will take it on board, starting with modifying my C.V.

All the Best!
