Hi people I have my niceic approved assessment on the 7th June and just wanted to ask a few simple questions.
1- R1+R2 on lighting circuit, if I have awkward fittings is it still essential to test at them?
2- Do I have to do R1+Rn on every circuit or just the cross connection one on ring?
I'd look in my books but I'm too comfy watching xmen on the sofa!
Thanks

1 - R1&R2 will be needed to confirm polarity. If you were to opt for the R2 method or just missing them altogether then you would have to record it accordingly.
2 - R1&RN isn't necessarily required on a new installation for circuits other than the ring final, however if you were carrying out a periodic it would be required for verification of voltage drop purposes.

if you have awkward fittings test at a light switch furthest point r1 rn just on rings but i allways do it on every circut least you no youve got your right nuetral

use guidance notes 3 or buy Brian scaddons testing & Inspection.
but on radial you do not need to do r1 rn r1 +r2 allways end on circuit last light from switch Zs from light it self.
sockets do every one highest result recorded beware of results in comparrison to r1 +r2 and Ze
