Discuss Two means of insolation for wires in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Dear all, I am trying to get information on what regulation is used to evaluate electric wire insolation. Wires should have the first layer of insolation on a copper wire. Then that wire is to be in conduit that protects the wire as the second layer of insolation. If you have broken conduit the wire is not fully protected. What regulation covers this requirement? Thanks,

Milt Dana

insulation of cables must be rated for the voltage at which the cable is to be used. single insulated cables may be run in containment. cables that are not in containment should have an outer sheath for mechanical protection. that is here in the UK. I would imagine similar regulations exist in Kuwait.
