Discuss What happens when Not verified N/V is used? in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

When filling in the Condition Report Schedule for Domestic with up to 100A, section 5.10 (Concealed cables installed in prescribed zones) Some one replied that is should be N/V. Does that mean that Further investigation is required? The reference Method is B as cables are concealed inside the walls and there is no way of knowing how deep are.

Sorry for asking too many questions. But I really appreciate all the help. Hopefully this the last time I ask questions.

Many thanks.

are you sure its ref method B ?
clipped direct to wall is ref C

anyways , you dont have to write anything in the report for cables in walls & floors that you cant see , its already noted on the first page of the eicr under limitations - have a look.

the inspection sample rate of 30% 50% or whatever , is for accessories such as lights , sockets etc , its not for cables as most houses only have about 2% of visible cable on show.

in the section " cables in prescribed / safe zones " , just write N/V ( not verified )

from another thread you just had answered

N/V means not verified. you can't chisel the walls to see the cables, nor are you superman with x-ray vision. all you can do is IR and continuity test cables that are concealed.

^^^ not necessarily, particularly if you have agreed limitations with the customer; or something crops up during the inspect/test
