Discuss Wylex REC2S screws supplied? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

PS: I actually miss my local Homebase because you could sometimes find just what you needed for a weekend DIY fix 5 minutes from my house. Another plus is that when they closed down they contacted my local branch of the Men's
Yes, I miss the one in Dundee as it had a bit more variety (but not lower prices) than the B&Q.

Thankfully there is one still open not far from my sister's place in Edinburgh!

Finally...if you do buy from Screwfix, do you "top-up" your bill to the nearest pound to donate the extra pennies to the Screwfix Foundation? Personally, I do, but always assumed I would never actually see a return.
At my local Men's Shed we needed some specialised interior doors to separate the workshops. We applied to Screwfix for a contribution ( I can't reveal the exact amount) to assist us in this endeavour. They asked us to submit the invoice for the works and shortly after sent us a cheque for the few thousand to cover the whole cost!
For work no, as not sure if that can sensibly be reconciled on accounts. For personal use then often yes.

When I sold my last house, due to the complexity of the systems I prepared a "Manual" which detailed how everything worked, what lamps were in each fitting etc. and left this in the house for the new owner. I received an email from the young lady saying thank you for the "Instruction Book" and "this will be super-useful to refer back to, going forward"
I am a pedant, sorry...
(some say I'm a pendant, and should be hung from the ceiling...)

Anyway I called in to Toolstation and bought one there so i can worry about my missing screws later. Probably should have just done that in the first place for all the cost saving, but was ordering other stuff as well.

The part Toolstation supply is RECSW2S and is the slim-line one with 2 wire-lockable screws, not the 4 screws style shown in the picture (that is part REC2S). Of course Wylex information is utterly lacking....

But this slim module has the isolator switch with double screws, not the single screw (cage clamp) style that you see in CU fittings and probably a better choice for DNO connected stuff. At some point i will post some photos.

I got a RECSW2S as well from Screwfix... Comes with removable shields for the outgoing side so is safe if you don't have the CU fitted yet... as was the case on my job.

Yes, and the shields fall out and get lost if you so much as look at opening the box!

That makes the unit asymmetric in that the smaller-cover-end has slots to hold the blanks after cables fitted so they can be put back if cables removed (unlikely I admin...). However, I think you could flip the switch part so you have text right-way-up even if you chose to feed from the top.
