hi

i am trying to open some amtech files that were saved using 2008 amtech , at the present i am using amtech 2012 and it doesnt recognise the files

can anyone assist
 
You won't be able to do anything I'm afraid, they are totally different files. 2008 database backups were .dtb or .mdb extensions if I remember correctly?something like that anyway! You will have to send your database to AMTECH and they will convert it to a .bak file and then you can migrate the new file to your software. Remember to back up your database several times!!
 
Hi scousergaz,

If you have FastTest Plus or Pro you can migrate the file yourself. Find the database file from 2008 in
C:\Amtech2008\FastTest\Database the file will be called Fast-Test.mdb
copy that to the PC with FastTest 2012.
In FastTest 2012 goto File > Migration in the new window select the file Fast-Test.mdb from earlier and open.
Select Stat migration and it will be merged with your current data.
As Sparkymalarky said backup you data before doing any of this.
