Hi lads help appreciated....describe how a prospective fault current test should be performed using a 3 lead instrument on single phase consumer unit? Cheers

red to brown, black to E, blue to bits.

Is that the same for finding both pefc and pssc telectrix as I've read in other posts that black and blue may need to be connected together for one of the tests?

Cheers Lee GN3 didn't seem to cover 3 lead testing dug out another book with it. I think examiners would be happy with testing across the standard 3 separate terminals

If I remember correctly guidance note 3 even states the manufacturers instructions of the MFT should be checked. For PEFC you would connect the corresponding leads to LNE this could also be the case for PSCC with some MFTs and some other MFT's would require the NE leads to be both connected to neutral when testing PSCC. Obviously the higher of the two values would be recorded as PFC. I would ask your tutor what city and guilds require for the purpose of the exam. It's a bit of a ambiguous question IMO.

Cheers mate will look out for wording of any questions and will clarify with tutor what C&G may be looking for
