Discuss are the laws changing???????? in the Australia area at ElectriciansForums.net

As Lenny said above, there is a parliamentary enquiry due soon. My fear is they'll look at the current situation, take advice from the CPS operators who obviously have a vested interest and bring in an amended scheme which will be worse than we have at present and that we will end up being hog tied in a lot more red tape.

I'd be prepared to bet that either the NVQ3 requirement gets dropped or that the providers are allowed to offer an in house course in domestic wiring which will be marketed as an equivalent.
The reason for this is that the providers stand to lose too much as a lot will not have the right stuff to pass the qualification in it's current format.

I'm sure i've seen the idea of an NVQ2 being brought in, as to do the NVQ3 you need to do 2 commercial/industrial and 1 domestic and no one whose done a "Part P" course will be likely to get close to doing the first 2

Yep, ...Anything, to lower the already low standards present in the industry today!! Just as long as they can still milk the cash cow's for all there worth!!!
