Can someone please help with baffling problem with my lights on Audi A6?

Hi there
I wonder if you can help me please?
I have a problem with the drivers side rear lights on my (2007) Audi A6. (includes taillight, reverse light, brake light and indicator.)
All other lights are working perfectly.
I am baffled because – when I’m stationary – before setting off – all of the lights usually work. Then, when I turn on the ignition and drive away, the lights fail and my warnings come on.
So, the bulbs seem ok – but I don’t know what’s causing the problem! D’you have any idea what’s likely to cause this? All the garages are fully booked until January, and I really need my car over the Christmas holiday season.

Try Googling, seems to be a common problem, need to clean ground connection eg:

Agreed. Actually interesting throughout, particularly the link to a more 'permanent' fix!

Intermittent Taillight Issue

How many of you have been plagued by this? http://i.Upload the image directly to the thread.com/4M8eg.jpg It starts out slowly... You'll get the warning that one of the rear lights is out. You get out to check... sure enough, there's a light out. The next time you start the car, however, it will magically be working again...

Extreme, but permanent fix, would be to hardwire the brown wire to the cluster, bypassing the plug and socket.
Had a Corsa with a well known instrument cluster plug fault that kept bouncing back. Finally took the bull by the horns, cut off both the plug and socket, and spliced in a couple of feet of new wire.
