Hopefully this one will post ?? I have recently bought a catering trailer. I need it pat testing so called an electrician in to quote for pat testing and fit new fuse box. He has said the whole trailer needs to be rewired with flexible cable and not twin & earth as is now? is this right. Is there anywhere I can read up on food trailer electrical & gas regs

From an electrical wiring regulations perspective, transportable units (i.e. electrical equipment in driven /towed vehicles) should be wired in flexible cable since the vehicle is subject to shaking and vibration and the cable must be able to accommodate this without problem.
Twin and earth cable is what they describe as semi rigid and is not designed to be frequently flexed, the rigidity of the conductors would mean that they would be subject to fatigue more rapidly than flexible cable.

I am not sure where any other materiel would be available.
