CCTV- visually good

Iv done a few cctv systems. Nothing professional, just the normal swann/hikvision stuff.

I have installed the cameras and respective cables in different ways. Some have been fed through the soffits into the loft, some have had JB boxes installed and cables ran through them and then rear entry into the building.

I am installing 8 cameras at a friends house next weekend. He has a 3 storey new build so lifting any floor boards and access to the soffit area will be difficult.

He has agreed that access to the loft will be tricky and has set up a corner in the study room to house the recorder and screen.

So, my question is, with 6 cameras scattered around the outside of the property (2 will be internal cameras) what's the best method of running the cables? Clipped direct? In conduit? Is there tricks to hide the cables? They are quite a small CSA.

I have decided to have a JB on the corner of the house and feed all cameras cables into that which will then lead into the house.

Any help would be appreciated

Not sure mini trunking would look good outside?

I dont think we will go between levels. We are going to aim to have all cameras at level 2. Too high and the footage will be fuzzy.

The only camera that will be different will be the one covering the front door

Can run ELV cables alongside the gripper under the carpet.

Black conduit is the best looking solution for wiring outside IMO.

The only thing I can think of is black plastic conduit.

cat 5 black cable to the outer building would be best .all the way .

Would have to agree with Buzz on the cat5. you could run 2 cables and Use the cores for each of the 8 camera's if your running local power to them if not then you will need more!
