im thinking of joining a competent persons scheme, ELECSA to be precise as in my opinion offers the best value for money and also because I just intend to do domestic work and don't require the 2392 at present.

My question is about the ELECSA site assessment, currently I am not a member competent persons scheme nor have never being so how do I complete a installation for the assessor when im not a member of competent persons scheme?

the correct answer to your question is that you will inform building control and advise them before doing the notifiable works and pay the fee they may or may not require when you tell them this will be used for the assessment. some however just do the work and register it after a successfull assessment.

Phils answered your question , i will say when you have applied and paid the fee they will send you out a pack of every thing you will need to have for the assesment including copies of some of the paper work required , they are a good bunch ,and the technical is exellent to

Chicken and egg comes to mind.

A lot of people do some work in there own house, consumer unit change install new circuit so that on your assesement day you can show the assesor that you are competant.

They will ask you to perform safe safe isolation maybe PFC or ze tests nothing too complicated.
They are there to help and if you have any major concerns you can ring and speak with one of the assessors who will guide you in the correct direction.

Good luck.
