Screwfix have a discount on Aico alarms this Thursday: Aico Fire, Heat & CO Alarms | Safety | NoLinkingToThis - https://www.NoLinkingToThis/c/safety-workwear/fire-heat-co-alarms/cat5280012?brand=aico&modelno=ei3018%7Cei3014%7Cei3016&mi_u=COM_274644099&mi_brand=SCREWFIX&utm_campaign=E21W35THUX2&utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Hero1&utm_term=Hero1

Only for combo alarms… (heat and smoke, heat and Co) EI3028 and 3024….. and RF modules.
Makes them £1 cheaper than city.

Huh? Just checked. It’s on some of the others now? Wasn’t like that at midnight last night

on a similar vein, Aldi 7 set VDE drivers £4.99. don't knock 'em. they are 8/10 on a scale of quality. i've had a set for 10 years, used and abused, not one broke or bent. and you get a neon driver as a widow maker bonus.

Don't knock the neon drivers til you've tried them

but you need heat rise in a kitchen. otherwise every time you do bacon, a smoke detector will activate. a heat rise in our kitchen activated on a chip pan fire, giving me time to extinguish before catastrophic damage occured. just the extractor fan, 2 wall cupboards and some smoke damage. kitchen needed repainting anyway

I was being tongue in cheek

I have an optical on the ceiling in mine ,not too much trouble with it

Yes without the RF it does have limited use, but I still thought it may interest someone.
It still does for 10yr optical at 30£, not a bad deal

But the bigger market as you're alluding to is prob the RF model for replacing basic 9v ionization with optical interconnect models for hallways etc, or new work.

Not up on the UK regs there

There’s not much market for standalone smoke detectors…. Not up here in Scotland. Have to be interlinked.

I recently got prices from Edmunsons who beat CEF by a fiver or so, and much cheaper than Screwfix. (where end customers will compare prices you charge them)
